What it is

Only one process can own ports 80 and 443, so the edge is chosen per node: Apache, nginx or OpenLiteSpeed. Everything behind it (PHP-FPM, containers) listens on loopback.

What it is for

Moving a node from Apache to nginx, for example, without hand-editing vhosts: the panel regenerates the configuration for every site.

Limits

Switching releases the ports, rewrites the PHP sockets and brings up the new edge; if it does not come up the panel returns to the previous edge. Varnish and Apache-behind-nginx combinations are not selectable from the panel yet.
