How to schedule a cron job and fix one that does not run

How-to Access and accounts cronscheduled taskcrontabschedule

Create a scheduled command with a five-field schedule or @daily, and a checklist for jobs that never run.

Steps

  1. Open Cron jobs and add a job.
  2. Give the schedule: five fields (minute hour day month weekday) or @hourly, @daily, @weekly, @monthly, @yearly.
  3. Give the command. A % in the command is handled for you.
  4. Save. Jobs run as your user, in the same jail as SSH, inside your account's CPU and memory limits.

Example: 0 3 * runs every day at 03:00.

It does not run

  1. Is the job enabled? You can disable one without deleting it.
  2. Is the schedule valid? @reboot is not allowed.
  3. Did you reach the plan's cron-job cap?
  4. Is the cron service up? The admin sees it under Server, Services.
  5. Is the account suspended? A suspended account runs no jobs.

Editing the crontab by hand does not stick: the panel rewrites it from its own records.
