How to enable a second PHP version for one site
Install extra PHP versions from the provider repository and choose a version per site; needs a License.
The Free tier runs one PHP version, switchable at any time. With a License you can run several versions side by side and choose one per site.
Steps
- Make sure the node has a License (apply one).
- In Server, PHP, enable the provider's package repository. The installer configures it but leaves it disabled, and enabling it is an explicit admin action.
- Install the extra version you need from that repository.
- Set the node's default version in the same screen. It is used when a site does not choose its own.
- Open Websites, site, PHP options and pick the version for that site.
- Reload the site and check the version in a
phpinfo()page you delete afterwards.
On the command line, panel manejador-php fpm shows or sets the handler.
What to know
- Each client runs its own PHP-FPM master per version, under its own user, with its own opcache.
- If the license lapses the node consolidates to one version (details).
- Per-site extensions are managed under Access, PHP extensions.
