What it is
A WebSocket terminal that opens a shell in the jail: read-only system, only the client's home, a private /tmp and no view of other users or processes.
The Windows edition has a separate ConPTY browser console under the customer's Windows account, with panel authorization and audit. It uses the customer's Job Object and a session job; Windows has no equivalent to the Linux jail, including for the console. Isolation relies on the account, Job Objects, deny rules and ACLs. The Windows edition is planned after Linux v1.
What it is for
Running commands without an SSH client.
Limits
Only if the provider enabled shell access for the account; otherwise the page explains how to ask. At most 3 terminals per account, idle ones close after 30 minutes, sub-users cannot open it, and suspending the account closes them.
